India’s travel technology sector has grown rapidly as more people earn higher incomes, use smartphones and prefer to book their trips through mobile platforms.
India’s online travel market is estimated at around $23.1 billion in 2025. It is expected to reach $33.9 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 7.76%. Mobile platforms already account for most travel bookings, creating opportunities across online travel agencies, ride-hailing, hotels, hospitality technology and new-age mobility.
According to Inc42 Datalabs, India has around 1,562 travel tech startups, including 261 funded startups. Together, these funded companies have raised more than $19.2 billion.
The sector currently has six unicorns and four soonicorns. Ola, MakeMyTrip and OYO remain the biggest-funded companies, followed by Rapido. Hospitality and mobility companies such as SAMHI Hotels, GreenCell Mobility and Akasa Air are also among the major funded players.
Top 25 Funded Travel Tech Startups in India
The ranking is based on the total funding raised by each startup, according to Inc42 Datalabs.
1. Ola
Founded in 2010, Ola is the most-funded travel tech company on the list. It has raised $4.74 billion, with Series J reported as its last funding stage.
2. MakeMyTrip
MakeMyTrip was founded in 2000 by Deep Kalra. The online travel company has raised $3.85 billion in total funding. Its latest funding stage is undisclosed.
3. OYO
Founded in 2012, OYO has raised $3.71 billion. Ritesh Agarwal is the company’s founder, while its latest funding stage remains undisclosed.
4. Rapido
Rapido entered the market in 2015 and has raised $1.53 billion. Aravind Sanka is among its founders, while the latest funding stage is undisclosed.
5. SAMHI Hotels
SAMHI Hotels was founded in 2010 and has raised $662.04 million. The company’s latest funding stage is undisclosed.
6. GreenCell Mobility
Founded in 2019, GreenCell Mobility has raised $546.62 million. Its latest reported funding stage is debt financing.
7. Vistara
Vistara was founded in 2013 and has raised $343.20 million. Private equity is listed as its latest funding stage.
8. Akasa Air
Akasa Air, founded in 2021, has raised $284.95 million. Its latest funding stage is undisclosed.
9. ZoomCar
Founded in 2012, ZoomCar has raised $256.47 million. David Back is among its founders, while its latest funding stage is undisclosed.

At the top end, Ola, MakeMyTrip and OYO have each raised more than $3 billion, while Rapido has crossed the $1.5 billion mark. Further down the list, companies such as Atlys, FabHotels and Headout have attracted funding in the tens of millions of dollars.
The overall numbers underline the scale of the Indian travel tech ecosystem. With around 1,562 startups, 261 funded companies and more than $19.2 billion raised cumulatively, travel technology has become a sizeable part of India’s startup economy.
